Who Is Devin O’Brien? Police arrest, charge Sandusky man with murder in death of 3-year-old

The 3-year-old daughter of the man’s fiancée was discovered dead on Thursday, leading Sandusky police to detain and accuse him of murder.

Devin O’Brien reported the 3-year-old missing to the Erie County Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday night at around 9 p.m., saying he couldn’t find her after she woke up from a sleep at the address the three of them lived at just west of Sandusky.

The 3-year-old was discovered dead after police conducted a search of the area around the Venice Road residence. The location of the body’s discovery was not disclosed by the prosecutor’s office.

Asphyxiation/strangulation was the cause of the 3-year-old’s death, and it was deemed a homicide, according to an autopsy report released by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office on Friday.

Prosecutor Kevin Baxter of Erie County stated that police found sufficient reason to detain O’Brien and prosecute him with murder.

According to Baxter, the mother of the three-year-old was in Cleveland when the incident occurred.
