Michael Iorizzo Death, Obituary: 18-year-old Killed in Four-Vehicle Crash in Havelock

In Havelock, North Carolina, an accident involving four vehicles claimed the life of 18-year-old Michael Iorizzo.

Iorizzo, who recently graduated from Havelock High School and began his first semester as an engine mechanic at Community College, lost control of his vehicle on Hwy 70 on Monday, causing a four-vehicle catastrophe that took his life.

It is thought that standing water and a lot of rain had a part in the collision.

At 4:58 p.m. on Monday, September 16, Havelock Police Department and Havelock Fire/EMS were called to the vicinity of Hwy 70 W, immediately east of Sermons Blvd., in reference to a car accident.

Iorizzo lost control while driving east on U.S. Hwy 70 W, crossed the median into the westbound lanes, and was hit by a car, according to the preliminary inquiry.

One person died in the four-vehicle crash that resulted from the collision.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol and the Havelock Police Department are presently working together to investigate this accident.
